November 2015: the official launch of SWIS
21.4.16 Science Gender and Education with Dr Dorothy Smith
The words gender and science trigger a variety of conversations. Dorothy will consider the ways in which science is used and misused to support societal beliefs about innate differences between men and women, girls and boys in Australia. She will pay particular attention to the ways in which beliefs in inevitable and intrinsic gender difference shape schooling, with consequences for all of Australian society
Following Dorothys' talk there will be time to socialize and network over provided refreshments

7.8.15 - SWIS has been awarded a Graduate Research School Intellectual Climate Fund grant. We will be putting the funds towards our opening event in October
7.8.15 Annual General Meeting - The first AGM for SWIS will be held at 10 am in the LTSU board room at La Trobe University (Bundoora campus) on the 7th of August. This meeting is open to members and the general public
